AFL 2007 Round Two...
April 9th 2007 07:23
The Easter round of AFL football has come and gone. How did you fare in your football tipping?
I managed seven and four. Seven was in the competition I'm not taking seriously, four was in my 'a-game' tipping competition!
So far the AFL season has thrown some curveballs to punters and supporters.
Essendon, two wins and zero losses.
Melbourne, zero wins and two losses?
Come again!
This is tough stuff.
Essendon beat Adelaide in Adelaide, then creamed Fremantle at the Telstra Dome. This is a team that had no chance of making the eight and not likely to win more than five games this season.
Melbourne has lost two games it would have pencilled in as wins.
What about St Kilda? Smashed by Brisbane on Thursday night at the GABBA. But how good are the Lions? Good enough to play finals this year? Or are the Saints, under new coach Ross Lyon, just missing the mark?
Clearly, we all have too many questions and not enough answers.
But will time tell?
One thing is for sure, Channel Seven needs to lift its game on Friday night. Channel 10 needs to scrap the analyser (or whatever they call it) and get of Michael Voss at the same time.
David Schwarz is great on SEN 1116, but struggles boundary side for Channel Seven. Ricky Olarenshaw is woeful.
Tim Watson is OK - but BRING BACK DIPPER!
