Kerr drug tapes revealed by ABC

The AFL has denied any previous knowledge of police tapes which allegedly link West Coast Eagles' midfielder Daniel Kerr and the Kangaroos' Aaron Edwards with a convicted drug dealer.
The League declared it has only been made aware of the tapes over the last 24 hours, with the recordings coming from a series of phone taps West Australian police made four years ago as part of Operation Remuda.
According to The ABC, the tapes indicate that Kerr, Edwards and former Perth Wildcat basketballer James Harvey allegedly all had conversations with convicted West Australian drug dealer Shane Waters, with one discussion indicating that Kerr obtained Ketamine, a powerful horse drug, from Waters following an away game against Geelong in August 2003.
Kerr was reported discussing the effects of the drug with Waters, with this being just one conversation from hundreds of hours of tapes obtained by the ABC.
The Kerr revelations are just another blow in a horror week for the Eagles, which saw the club suspend former skipper Ben Cousins indefinitely following a series of indiscretions.
Cousins's father has since come out in public to reveal his son has a substance abuse problem, with the Eagles' midfielder also named in the Remuda tapes, although his voice is apparently not heard in any conversations.
For Kerr, the revelations follow a $10,000 fine from the club after he was convicted of assaulting a Perth taxi driver last month.
