September 5th 2007 02:55
Welcome back to Sport Talk!
Let's recap this weekend, week one, of the AFL footy finals, then work out who will and at what odds...
Friday September 7, 2007
Second qualifying final
Port Adelaide v West Coast at AAMI Stadium, 7.50pm CST
AFL TV: Channel 7
(Live into Melbourne and Perth; 30 min delay into Adelaide; 15 min delay to Sydney. Brisbane)
Saturday September 8, 2007First elimination final
Hawthorn v Adelaide at Telstra Dome, 2.30pm AEST
AFL TV: Channel 10
(Live into Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane; 30 min delay into Melbourne)
Second elimination final
Collingwood v Sydney Swans at the MCG, 7.30pm AEST
AFL TV: Channel 10
(Live into Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane; 30 min delay into Melbourne)
Sunday September 9, 2007
First qualifying final:
Geelong v Kangaroos at the MCG, 2.45pm AEST
AFL TV: Channel 7
(Live into Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane; 30 min delay into Melbourne)
Is there any value in the head to head odds?
Head to Head
Port Adelaide 1.70
West Coast 2.15
Hawthorn 2.20
Adelaide 1.67
Collingwood 2.07
Sydney 1.75
Geelong 1.20
Kangaroos 4.50
If I was a betting man (which I proudly am), I'd be having a serious crack at the West Coast Eagles at $2.15 on Friday night. Port are a good side, but the West Coast just get better and better come finals time.
I'd then have a dabble at Sydney to beat Collingwood. The Pies have been hot and cold in recent weeks, and I don't think Mick Malthouse's spin "we can be much better" will cut it. Smashed by Adelaide and should be sent packing from Septopia by the Swans.
$4.50 the Kangaroos looks mighty fine, maybe have something small on a triple WCE/SYD/KANG to really bring home the bacon!
Remember, only bet what you can afford to lose!
