The future of the AFL looks to be in safe hands. In 2007 a number of young, up and coming stars have cemented their position in senior sides and today Sport Talk launches a new Rising Star series that will take a closer look at the rising stars making a name for themselves this year.

Murphy has progressed out of sight this season, improving on an impressive 2006:
2007 Season Highlights:
22 disposals (14 kicks 8 hballs), 5 marks and 5 tackles in round 7 24-pt loss to Collingwood at the MCG (12 May 2007).
30 disposals (18 kicks 12 hballs), 7 marks and a goal in round 2 78-pt loss to Geelong at Docklands Stadium (7 Apr 2007).
With number one Carlton midfielder Nick Stevens injured and out for the year, Murphy has found being tagged by the opposition's best midfielder. Can he continue to handle the pressure?
