AFL Tips and Bets - Round Four Results

Let's have a look at the results from round four of the AFL season. In the days leading up to Friday night's match between Essendon and Western Bulldogs, I've never heard so many people declare "this is the easiest round ever" or "I should use my wildcard this week".
Now, with all the round completed, if you tipped eight you must be a miracle worker. Check for vacancies on the Beijing Olympic Committee.
Sport Talk's tips for round four:
Bulldogs - RIGHT
Melbourne - WRONG
Geelong - RIGHT
Sydney - RIGHT
Port Adelaide - WRONG
Hawthorn - RIGHT
Collingwood - WRONG
Fremantle - WRONG
Total: FOUR - Terrible tipping!
I thought Melbourne were a genuine chance against North Melbourne, and went for an upset. As it turned out, Carlton were on the brink of brilliance and the Tigers pulled out every stop to steamroll the Dockers in Perth.
Let's not forget the hunger of the Brisbane Lions, who turned a massive third quarter deficit into one of the club's greatest ever wins.
What about Sport Talk's best bet for round four? Western Bulldogs to beat Essendon at $1.68 - In the end, injuries beat the Bombers, but the best bet held up.
But the real gem was in this call on the Carlton v Collingwood game:
I thought Collingwood had been playing above themselves in the first few weeks of their season, and the volatile form of some of their stars shone through today. Rocca went missing, Maxwell was woeful after being reported in the first quarter and even Alan Didak lacked his normal magic.
Carlton's drought breaking victory could start a wave of wins in the next few weeks for the Blues.
How did you fare in tipping this week? Or did you back a winner (or loser)?
Check back later this week for round five tips and best bets.

Carlton ($4.30) represent some good value against Collingwood ($1.29). The Magpies haven't convinced me yet, despite losing their only game of the year by a kick against the Lions (and the umpires) at the Gabba. Carlton were full of confidence and running against the Bombers last week, but Chris Judd and Nick Stevens just ran out of puff.
If they can dominate late into the game, the Blues are a chance to cause the upset of the round. Don't forget they have the club's longest losing streak hanging over their heads, and Brett Ratten has to win a game sooner or later.
