Blake Griffin Wins Rookie of the Year
May 4th 2011 14:31
The six foot ten inches power forward from Oklahoma is the rookie of the year. Technically this is Blake Griffin second year. Last year, he did not play due to hurting his knee in the final preseason game for the Clippers. So this season, he was eligible for the award. He only played two years at Oklahoma when he decided to go to the NBA. Blake was drafted number one overall in the 2009-10 draft to the Los Angeles Clippers. This year, he made the All Star team, becoming the first rookie to do so since Yao Ming in 2003. Blake Griffin averaged 22.5 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.
Griffin will be the first Los Angeles Clippers player to win the rookie of the year in its franchise since moving to LA in 1984. Before the Clippers were moved to Los Angeles, the franchise was in San Diego. During his rookie season, Blake Griffin had 214 dunks, that is ridiculous. He always had a highlighted dunk every time he played for the Clippers this season. My all time favorite one is when he dunked over Tim Mozgov. He went up over him, had his hand over all over his scalp, and flushed it on Tim Mozgov. That was nasty. Blake is probably the most excited player to watch in the NBA.
