Australian Andrew Bogut will miss the remainder of the NBA season with a sprained left foot.
The Milwuakee Bucks centre injured his foot against the Los Angeles Lakers on March 7 and re-injured it at practice on Tuesday.
The Aussie star, originally from the Victorian suburb of Endeavour Hills, underwent an MRI on Tuesday and was a last-minute omission from the team that played the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night.
The good news for Bogut and the Bucks is that the injury will not require surgery, with the talented centre set to resume training in six to eight weeks.
With 15 games remaining in the season, Bogut's injury is a blow to the Bucks who are struggling with a 25-42 win-loss record this season.
Bogut averaged 12.3 points and 8.8 rebounds this season.
