Rory McIlroy helps British golfers round out the top three spots in golf's world ranking. McIlroy who started the year at number ten moved his way to number three in the latest ranking. Englishmen Luke Donald and Lee Westwood are number one and two, respectively. McIlroy said he fed off the success of his British counterparts. He said he saw Lee get to number one and has been striving to be better than everyone else. McIlroy won the U.S. Open by a record score at Congressional on June 19. He says he wants to continue playing well while Tiger Woods tries to recover from his injured left leg. McIlroy said, “It's a good time for me to win things when he's not playing his best.” Tiger Woods hasn't won a title since the Australian Masters in 2009. He has fallen all the way to number 17 in the world ranking. This is his lowest since 1997. Woods has not yet made a decision on whether he will be healthy enough to compete in the British Open.
