Bulls Up 3-2 In The Series

In game five of the Bulls-Hawks series, the Bulls dominated the first quarter, leading by 11 points, 32 to 21. In the second and third quarter, the Hawks picked it up, and were only trailing by one after the third, 68 to 69. Then in the fourth quarter, the Hawks were complacent, and were falling apart in that quarter. The Bulls went on a 9-0 run after they were trailing 70 to 69 to the Hawks. Atlanta only scored six points in the paint for a total of 15 points in the fourth. That was Atlanta's lowest scoring quarter. The Bulls scored 18 points in the paint for a total of 26 points in the fourth quarter. The Bulls won game five, 95 to 83. The top player for the Bulls was Derrick Rose with 33 points, shooting 11 of 24 from the floor. He was big in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 points. This is the first time in this series where Rose had shot less than 27 shots for his team. Prior to this game, he averaged 28.25 shots a game. Luol Deng added 23 points for the Bulls. Keith Bogans scored 11 points, which means the Bulls are now 30-2 when he scores six or more points. For Atlanta, its leading scorer was Jeff Teague, who scored 21 points. Jeff Teague has been playing huge since filling in for Kirk Hinrich, who has been out because of his right hamstring. It has been almost two weeks since his injury, and hamstrings usually take a month to heal. Anyways, Teague has averaged 17 points in this series, including tonight's performance. Josh Smith added 16 points. Game six is Thursday in Atlanta, where the Hawks will try to keep their season alive.
