Chicago Punches In Ticket For Conference Finals
May 13th 2011 02:46
In a must win game for the Atlanta Hawks, they looked a little slow to rotate on defense in the first half. Derrick Rose, who finished with 19 points and 12 assists, was doing a lot of facilitating to his teammates instead of taking a lot of shots like he did in the previous five games. Rose took 14 shots instead of 27. Carlos Boozer added 23 points. The Bulls outscored the Hawks, 27 to 17 in the first quarter due to Rose passing the ball and the team having good ball movement and taking good shots. In the second quarter, Jeff Teague went up for a shot, but had a bad landing that caused him to hurt his hand in the process. He was okay and sat on the bench for a little bit while the crowds was chanting, “We want Teague.” Jeff Teague finished with four points. In the third and fourth quarter, the Bulls were passing the ball and making great decision like they did in the first quarter. The Hawks were taking a lot of jump shots and turning the ball over a lot which caused them to be down by as much as 26 points. This occurred in the fourth quarter when it was 85 to 59 with 5:18 left. Atlanta lost the game 93 to 73. Atlanta's leading scorer was Joe Johnson with 19 points. Josh Smith added 18 points. The Chicago Bulls won the series, 4-2, and will face the heatles on Sunday in the United Center for game one.
