Norris Cole, the Cleveland State guard, is headed to Miami Heat by trade from the Minnesota Timber wolves. He was picked 28th overall in the NBA draft. Cole said with a smile, “They (Clevelanders) know it wasn't really my choice.” The Cleveland fans have been booing the Heat ever since LeBron James departed from Cleveland and sent to the Miami Heat. Cole said joining his new team doesn't bother him, despite it being unpopular by his native people. He even said, “I've liked the Heat anyway. I was cheering for them. Some people didn't like the fact I was cheering from them, but they're happy for me and my success. Some people have bad comments to about LeBron, but I ignore them.” Cole has not yet met LeBron or any of the Big Three for that matter. He might not meet the Big Three, because there is a possibility that a lockout can happen. Until then, Cole will workout in the Midwest while waiting for the labor talk to be resolved. He said he is going to control what he can control, and when Cole gets back to the court he will be ready. Pat Riley said that Cole has the speed to change the pace of a game, which may cause the Heat to play a more uptempo style of basketball. As a senior, Norris Cole averaged 21.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists for Cleveland State. The team finished with a 27-9 record and beat Wake Forest in the first round of the 2010-11 college basketball season. When Cole heard his name called on draft day, he was at home with 80 of his relatives, and they went crazy when they heard he was going to play for the Heat. As for the kind of support he will receive from Clevelanders, Cole said it doesn't bother him one bit if they cheer for him or boo him.
