June 23rd 2008 06:16
BIG kicking Collingwood forward Anthony Rocca will miss up to three months of football after injuring his ankle against the Bulldogs on Sunday evening.
But the Magpies have denied Rocca's injury setback is career-threatening.
According to news sources, Rocca will undergo surgery tomorrow to have a pin inserted in his right ankle.
Rocca was a late inclusion for the Magpies' in the 10-point loss to the Western Bulldogs.
His injury occurred in the third quarter, as he kicked a long ball into the forward line.
A new crack had been found in the ankle he had surgery on late last year.
Magpies forward Ben Reid will also be sidelined for the next two months with a broken bone in his foot, sustained in last night's match.
Collingwood face a must-win match against the Sydney Swans at ANZ Stadium in the second week of the split round.
