Dirk Leads Mavericks To Victory

In game one of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Thunder went on a 15-4 to have a five point lead with around 2 ½ minutes left in the first quarter. The lead was 21-16. One of the reasons the Dallas Mavericks was down after the first quarter was because they went 0-6 from the three point line. The Oklahoma City shot 61% in the first quarter. The Dallas Maverick tighten up their defense to close the Oklahoma City Thunder lead in the second quarter. They went on a 9-0 in the early minutes of the second quarter to the tie the score at 32. The run was ended by James Harden's three pointer. That was the Oklahoma City Thunder's fourth three in the game. They averaged seven made three a game in the regular season. The Dallas Maverick went on a 16-3 run to end the second quarter; they improved on their three point shooting by going 4-7 of threes in that quarter. Dirk Nowitzki finished with 21 points in the half. He scored 48 points in total, including going 24 for 24 on the free throw line. Jason Terry added 24 points while J.J. Barea scored 21 points. For the Thunder, Durant finished with 40 points including 17 points at half. Russell Westbrook who finished with a triple double in the deciding game seven of the Conference Semifinals, finished with 20 points. He made only three of 15 shots. Dallas won the game, 121-112. Game two is Thursday in Dallas where the Mavericks are 6-0 in the playoffs.
