Guccione out of Sony Ericsson Open in Miami

Australian Chris Guccione has been bundled out of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami in the first round losing 6-7 (8-6) 7-6 (10-8) 6-4 to Frenchman Florent Serra in a three-set epic.
With little to separate the players in the first two sets, Serra came into his own in the last, holding on to an early break to win the deciding set comfortably.
With the tournament's top players being rested for the first round, the unseeded players were left to battle it out with former world No. 1 Gustavo Kuerten making an early exit after being thrashed by Raemon Sluiter 6-2 6-2.
Italian Daniele Bracciali will take on No. 10 seed Novak Djokovic after brushing aside Max Mirnyi of Belarus 7-6 (7-2) 6-4, while 2004 champion and No. 3 seed Andy Roddick will face Martin Vassallo Arguello in the second round after the Argentine knocked out Korean Hyung-Taik Lee 6-4 6-2.
After winning in Buenos Aires last month, Argentine Juan Monaco dispatched Dutch qualifier Robin Haase 6-4 6-4, while Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez ousted big-serving Croat Ivo Karlovic 6-4 6-7 (7-4) 7-6 (7-5) to book a spot in the second round despite a change of court due to light.
