Hawks Soar on Mother's Day
May 9th 2011 03:20
After having a career high performance with 44 points in game three, could DRose duplicate that performance on Mother's Day? Tonight, Rose is probably dedicating this game to his mom, who has had a great influence in his life. His hard work and determination comes from his mother, since she had to work hard in order to support her four sons in Englewood. During every game he plays for the Chicago Bulls, Rose always blows a kiss towards the crowds directly to his mother. Derrick Rose on a WGN radio station said, “It is always Mother's Day.”
In game four, Rose scored 34 points, despite shooting an atrocious 12 of 32 from the field. He led all Bulls in scoring. Carlos Boozer had 18 points, which is his best of this series. He has been struggling all series long. The Hawks were led by Joe Johnson with 24 points, going 9 of 14 from the field. Josh Smith added 23 points, 16 rebounds, and eight assists; going 8 of 22 from the field. At one point in the game, Josh Smith was open for a jump shot, and the crowd was screaming, NO NO NO NO. He took the shot, and missed it. The Hawks fans haven't forgotten about game three where he was missing outside jumpers. He stayed inside, grabbed rebounds, and dished out assists. The Hawks of this games looked like the Hawks of game one. Even though they did not shoot 51% in this game, it was still close as Atlanta shot 49.4 % from the field. The Hawks won 100 to 88; get their first win in the second round since '96 against the Magic. Game five is Tuesday in the United Center.
