Heat Win A Pivotal Game Three
June 6th 2011 03:13
Since the NBA implemented the 2-3-2 format in 1985, all 11 teams that won game three went on to hoist the NBA championship. Like in game one, the Dallas Mavericks missed a lot of good shots in the first half. The Mavericks did make two runs in the second quarter, 7-0 and 8-0, but were trailing 47-42 at halftime. Wade was playing very aggressive in the first half. He finished with 19 points and six rebounds (Two of them were offensive rebounds) at the half. The Miami Heat started the third quarter on an 8-0 run, then the Mavericks followed that with a 14-2 run to tie the score at 57 with 4:38 left in the period. In the fourth quarter, it was a duel between D-Wade and Dirk Nowitzki. Wade scored the last 7 of the 9 points for the Miami Heat, while Nowitzki scored the last 12 points for the Dallas Mavericks. Nowitzki missed a jumper that would have sent the game into overtime. He scored the last nine points for the Mavericks in their game two improbable comeback win, 95-93. D-Wade finished with 29 points. LeBron James managed to score 17 points, while Chris Bosh scored 18 points. For the Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki scored 34 points. Jason Terry scored 15 points off the bench. The Miami Heat take game three, 88-86; a 2-1 lead in the series. All signs point that Miami will win the NBA championship.
