Mavs Are 2011 Champs

After all the turmoil and downfalls the Dallas Mavericks had went through in the past, they are the 2011 NBA Champions. In this series, the games have been close. Prior to this game, Dallas has outscored Miami 463-459. The previous three games had been decided by three points or fewer. The Mavericks were 3-0 in elimination games this postseason; won their six of their last seven road games, prior to this game. The Dallas Mavericks are the only team in the playoffs to defeat the Miami Heat at home.
In game six of the finals, the Mavericks went on a 21-7 to end the first quarter; led 32-27. In the second quarter, the Heat went on a 14-0 run when the score was 40-28 Dallas. The Miami Heat had a lot of lazy passes that were led into turnovers. They had 16 turnovers, but Dallas had 14. Another woe for the Miami Heat was their free throw shooting. They went 20-33 from the line, while the Mavericks shot 12-18. For the Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki who finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds in the game went 1-12 in the first half for three points. The Jet, Jason Terry had 19 points, who went 8-10 from the field. He finished with 27 points. In the third quarter, the Dallas Mavericks went on an 8-0 run to go up 63-56. In the fourth, Dirk scored 10 points. LeBron had seven points in the fourth. Before this game, he had 11 total points in the series. He finished with 21 points. For the Heat, Mario Chalmers scored 18 points, Chris Bosh had 19 points, and Wade finished with 17 points. The Dallas Mavericks won the game, 105-95. They took the series, 4-2. This was the first time a team in that series won by double digits. The Dallas Mavericks won their first championship in their 31 year franchise. Dirk Nowitzki was named the NBA Finals MVP. He averaged a little over 26 points and 10 rebounds in the finals.
