Memphis Shocks Oklahoma, and Paul Pierce Ejected as The Celtics Lose
May 1st 2011 22:50
After an unprecedented series win against the Spurs, the Memphis Grizzlies shock the Oklahoma Thunder in game one of the Western Conference Semifinals, winning 114 to 101. Despite his 29 points performance, Russell Westbrook got to the painted area six times and blew it all six times. The Thunder were led by Kevin Durant with 33 points, and the Memphis Grizzlies were led by Zach Randolph with 34 point and Marc Gasol with 20 points and 13 boards. To be honest, the Memphis Grizzlies looked like the better team in game one. They committed less turnovers, scored more points in the paint, and had better ball movement than the Oklahoma Thunder. Just like in game one with the Spurs, the Memphis Grizzlies stole away home court away from their opponent, and won all their home games to advance to the next round. Could this be deja vu all over again?
In game one, the Miami Heat won against the Boston Celtics, 99 to 90. Dwyane Wade went off in the first half, scoring 23 points. He finished with 38 points to become Miami's top performer in game one. The Celtics top performer was Ray Allen with 25 points. But the talk of the game, besides Wade's performance, was Paul Pierce, who got ejected from the game in the fourth quarter with seven minutes left, because he did not like the way James Jones fouled him, and then he got in a heated word battle with Dwyane Wade. This gave Pierce two technical fouls and an automatic ejection from the game. Game two is Tuesday.
