Miami Takes Game One

After almost a week has gone by, the NBA finals has started back tonight. In game one of the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks series, it was close most of the game, but the Miami Heat took a ten point lead with 1:08 left in the game, which was the first double digit lead by either team. In the first quarter, the Heatles led most of it, until the final seconds where the Mavericks took their first lead at 17-16 to end that quarter. In the second quarter, the Dallas Mavericks started to get their offense clicking when they went on a 7-0 at one point to take a 38-35 lead. They ended the half with a 44-43 lead. In the third quarter, the Mavericks were falling apart a little bit when they started to make turnovers, and letting the Miami Heat to gain some momentum. Miami led 65-61 after the third.
In the fourth quarter, the Mavericks were missing shots, while Miami played good defense on the Mavericks down the stretch. The Miami Heat were too strong at the end, and won the game, 92-84. For Miami, its top performer was LeBron James with 24 points and nine rebounds. He captured his first finals win in a series. Dwyane Wade added 22 points, and Chris Bosh scored 19 points. The Big Three for the Miami Heat make up 73.5% of their offense. For Dallas, its lead man was Dirk Nowitzki, who 27 points and went 12-12 from the free throw line. Shawn Marion added 16 points. The Mavericks did not get much from their bench. This was Dallas fifth straight loss against Miami in the finals, dating back to 2006. The Miami Heat are now 9-0 at home and game two is on Thursday at American Airlines Arena.
