Tayte Pears, David Myers ready to launch baby Bombers

Essendon youngsters Tayte Pears and David Myers should be counting down the days until their first AFL games.
Surrounded by an injury ravaged list, Pears and Myers continue to impress at training, and continue to take steps towards slipping on a senior jumper for the first time.
Tayte Pears was pick 23 for Essendon in the draft, and has been named as an emergency for tonight's game against the Western Bulldogs.
With Matthew Lloyd (calf) and Scott Lucas (knee) both missing, power-forward Courtney Johns is likely to get the nod, but Pears, a ball-magnet defender, is not far off.
Pears is 190 centimetres and weighs 90 kilograms. Not the tallest AFL player by any stretch, but the running defender makes up for his average height with a gifted ability to read the play.
He has already played a handful of games for Essendon's VFL side Bendigo.
At the 2007 AFL Draft Camp, Pears recorded an outstanding 2.92 seconds for the 20m sprint – placing him in the top 10 percent of players.
His mate, and fellow Essendon draftee, David Myers was Essendon's first round draft pick, taken at pick six.
This weekend, Myers will play his first VFL game with Bendigo, after recovering from a slight hamstring strain.
Myers is widely tipped to make an impression on the senior list in 2008.
Could it be a double ANZAC Day debut for Myers and Pears?
Bendigo Bombers play Werribee Tigers at Bartercard Oval, Werribee on Sunday 13 April at 2pm.
