Nadal will miss Wimbledon: knee injury
June 19th 2009 18:23
Defending champion and world number one Rafael Nadal will miss this year's Wimbledon grand slam because of recurring and troubling knee injury.
As Nadal prepares to front the media, Sport Talk has learnt that Nadal will not play at the tournament, which has Roger Federer installed as an even-money favourite.
Nadal lost in the fourth round of the French Open, when he was outplayed and outclassed by Robin Soderling.
Nadal lost an exhibition match against Lleyton Hewitt two days ago, and in a follow up match, appeared to have trouble bending down to pick up runaway balls.
Andy Murray may be the big winner of Nadal's pre-tournament exit, the star Brit won't face Roger Federer until the final, if he wins through.
More to come on Wimbledon betting.
