Scott Wins Bridgestone Invitational
August 7th 2011 22:38
Adam Scott won the WGC-Bridgestone by four strokes over Rickie Howler and Luke Donald. He won with Tiger's former caddie, Steve Williams. Today, Scott chipped in and holed a 30 foot putt for birdies in a span of three holes to pull away 19 year old, Ryo Ishikawa, to win the Bridgestone Invitational. Ishikawa made bogey on the last hole to finish fourth, which was his highest in America. Scott closed out the day with a 5-under 65. For Woods, he finished 1-over 281. He finished at even-par 70, today, tied in 37th, and 18 shots behind. This was Tiger Woods first tournament that he finished in four months. Woods, who was 13 shots out of the lead entering the final round, had birdies on two of his opening five holes when it fell apart in a hurry. He said, “I got off to such a great start.” “Then all of a sudden, I just absolutely lost it.” In the fourth round, he switched back to the Nike putter. In the previous three rounds, he used the Scotty Cameron that he had since 1998. The clubs switch seemed like it did not make a difference in his performance. Woods look like he will not crack the top 125. He started out the week at 125. Woods has three days of practice before the final major of the year, PGA Championship, at Atlanta Athletic Club, which starts Thursday. He has been hitting balls on the practice range after his rounds, an indication that his left leg is no longer causing any problems. After the PGA Championship, Woods will be not playing a PGA Tour event for the next six weeks.
