Sport Talk 2007...
January 10th 2007 05:24
Hello!
Welcome to the new year at Sport Talk.
The holidays are finally finished and Sport Talk is ready to swing back into action in 2007. What a year it is going to be! We've already seen Australia dominate England 5-0 in Test matches across Australia, and if last night's Twenty-20 match is anything to go by, the Aussies could rule the limited over matches too.
But the competitive spirit is not lost. The Australian Open starts later this week, Melbourne (my home city) hosts the World Swimming Championships and World Cup Cricket is also on the calendar.
Throw in what is shaping up to be a big year in AFL, NRL and exciting conclusions to the NBL and A-League seasons - there is plenty to look forward to.
If you're looking for coverage of the 2007 Crown Aussie Millions Poker Tournament - don't look past Sport Talk. This reporter has inside access and will be talking to some of the big names over the coming week.
Photographs included!
Just quickly and for what my humble opinion is worth, Twenty-20 cricket is a slur on the great game. I love the fireworks, music and nicknames, but feel sorry for the players, particularly the bowlers who become circus-like performers to a ravashing crowd.
Adam Gilchrist's commentary was sensational!
Until next time!
Glen.
