Surprising Game 4s
April 25th 2011 02:25
What a surprising day for the NBA playoffs. First, the heat did not close out the 76ers, who hit two critical threes at the end to win the game, 86 to 82. The first three was made by Jrue Holiday (Who had 10 pts) to put the 76ers down by 1, 81 to 82, and the second three, which was hit by Lou Williams (Who had 17 pts), to put his team up 84 to 82. The Miami Heat had a chance to tie it when LeBron James (Who had 31 pts) drove to the basketball for a two footer shot, but the shot bounced off the glass, and Evan Turner (Who had 17 pts) hit two feet throws to end the game. The 76ers played with a lot of heart, and wasn't ready to go home just yet.
In other news, the Boston Celtics swept the New York Knicks, who did put up much of a fight in this game unlike game 3 on Friday. The Knicks cut a 23 point lead to 4 at one point in the game, 84 to 80, but could not overcome the hump to take the lead and win the game. The Celtics were led by Kevin Garnett's 26 points and 10 rebound performace. The Celtics are now awaiting the winner of the Heat and 76ers to face in the second round of the playoffs. But the most surprising of the night was the Atlanta Hawks beating the Orlando Magic, 88 to 85, to take a 3 to 1 lead into the series. Now the Orlando Magic are heading home to make the series 3 to 2 on Tuesday. The Atlanta Hawks were led by Jamal Crawford's 25 points, and they are trying to close the series on Tuesday in order to face the Chicago Bulls or Indiana Pacers in round two.
