The Bulls' rookie head coach, Tom Thibodeau, wins Coach of the year this Sunday afternoon. Thibodeau had taken the Chicago Bulls to a number one seed in the Eastern Conference and the overall best record at 62-20. He replaced Vinny Del Negro, who was there as the Bulls' head coach for two years. Before the Bulls' head job, Thibodeau was a defensive coach for the Boston Celtics, where he won an NBA championship with them in 2008. Like they said, “Defense wins Championships.” Tom Thibodeau has taken his defensive mindset to Chicago, and it has transition beautifully over from Boston to Chicago. The Chicago Bulls finished the regular season with the number one defense in the league. During their remarkable regular season, the Bulls never lost more than two games in a row; went 15-1 in their respective division. There only lost was to the Indiana Pacers at Indiana. Derrick Rose, who is the expected NBA MVP said, “Thibs, man, he is the coach of the year to me. Where he is just been on us, holding everybody accountable every time we step on the court.” If Derrick Rose wins the MVP, he and Thibs will be the 12th duo to win their respective award in NBA history.
