Thunder Win In Blowout
May 12th 2011 04:43
In a pivotal game five for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies series, the winner of game five go on to win the series 83% of the time after the series is tied at 2-2. In game five, the Oklahoma City won 99 to 72. This is the first time Memphis lost two in a row in this year's playoffs; the first series lead for the Thunder. The Thunder were led by Kevin Durant with 19 points, shooting 7 of 14 from the floor. Russell Westbrook had 11 points with six rebounds by taking only 10 shots. He went 4 for 10 from the field. Daequan Cook added 18 points off the bench. The lead was so large for the Thunder that Durant and Westbrook did not even play in the fourth quarter. For the Memphis Grizzlies, their lead man was Marc Gasol with 15 points. Z-Bo was not himself tonight. He had only 9 points. Zac Randolph averaged 26 points and 14 rebounds prior to game five. The Memphis Grizzlies missed a lot of layups and looked slow tonight. They were out-rebounded 85 to 58. I do not know if the Memphis Grizzlies was still tired from the triple overtime game on Monday. Memphis went 60% from the free throw line (14-23), missing nine shots from the line. The Thunder missed five shots from the free throw line (16-21), going 76% from the line. The Grizzlies shot 36% from the field as a team, which was their season-worst, while the Thunder shot 47% from the floor. Game six is in FedEx Forum on Friday.
